Eagles place three WRs on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Philadelphia Eagles placed wide receivers JJ Arcega-Whiteside, John Hightower and Deontay Burnett on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, with Arcega-Whiteside testing positive, multiple outlets reported.

The Eagles confirmed a positive test but did not name the player.

“The Philadelphia Eagles received confirmation this morning (Thursday) that a player tested positive for COVID-19,” the Eagles said in a statement. “The individual and close contacts who were identified through contact tracing are in self-isolation. We are following NFL-NFLPA intensive protocols and remain in communication with the league on this matter.”

The move to put three wideouts on the list comes three days before the Eagles hit the road for a game against the Cleveland Browns. Philadelphia is just 3-5-1 this season but sits atop the moribund NFC East.

Hightower is the only one of the three to play in all nine games, caching nine passes for 166 yards. Burnett has three catches in two games, while Arcega-Whiteside has two catches in seven games.
