Eagles’ Ward only WR healthy enough to practice
A former college quarterback was the only wide receiver healthy enough to practice Thursday for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Greg Ward, who has played in just 10 games, could line up as the Eagles’ No. 1 receiver in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
DeSean Jackson (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (foot), J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) all missed practice, as did John Hightower (lower-body), who wasn’t on the injury report Wednesday. Jeffery was downgraded after a limited practice Wednesday.
Quez Watkins started his 21-day window to return to practice and could be available Sunday.
The Eagles could have a receiving corps of Ward, Travis Fulgham and Marcus Green.
The 5-foot-11 Ward has 14 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown in three games (two starts) this season. Ward played quarterback in college for the Houston Cougars, throwing for 8,704 yards and 52 touchdowns in 49 games.
