Giants LB T.J. Brunson out for season with torn ACL
New York Giants linebacker T.J. Brunson will miss the 2021 season with a torn ACL suffered in Saturday night’s preseason loss to the New York Jets.
The Giants also announced Sunday that defensive back Joshua Kalu sustained a torn pectoral muscle and is likely out for the season.
Brunson, 23, was a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and posted three tackles in five games last season.
“It’s unfortunate. Sometimes that’s the nature of the game. You don’t wanna see any player on either team get hurt. You always want every team to come out completely healthy,” Giants coach Joe Judge told reporters following the game.
Kalu, who turns 26 later this month, signed a one-year, $920,000 contract in March after spending his first three seasons with Tennessee. He had 26 tackles in 28 games with the Titans from 2018-20.
