Jaguars sign P Colquitt off Bucs’ practice squad

After playing without a punter last weekend, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran Dustin Colquitt off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad on Thursday.

Colquitt, 38, played his first 15 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs (2005-19) before signing a one-year deal with Pittsburgh in September. The Steelers released him in October after five games, and the Bucs added him to the practice squad last Friday.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection averaged 43.1 yards on 20 punts with the Steelers before being replaced by Jordan Berry.

Colquitt appeared in 238 regular-season games and 12 playoff games with the Chiefs, including the 31-20 victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

Placekicker Aldrick Rosas punted for the Jaguars in last Sunday’s 40-14 loss at Baltimore after punter Logan Cooke was ruled out due to an illness. Cooke was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

Rosas averaged 36.7 yards on three punts against the Ravens.
