Jaguars WR Chark (chest, back) ruled out vs. Dolphins
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark has been downgraded to out for Thursday’s game against the visiting Miami Dolphins, the team announced.
Chark initially was designated as questionable with chest and back injuries. The Pro Bowl wideout sustained those injuries while leaping for a 45-yard reception during the first quarter of the Jaguars’ 33-30 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
With Chark sidelined, Keelan Cole and rookie Laviska Shenault Jr. should see additional targets against the Dolphins (0-2). Fellow wideout Dede Westbrook likely will draw into the lineup for the first time this season for the Jaguars (1-1).
Chark, 24, has recorded seven catches for a team-high 109 yards and a touchdown. He has 94 receptions for 1,291 yards and nine scores in 28 career games since being selected by Jacksonville in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Jaguars previously ruled out center Brandon Linder (knee) and placed kicker Josh Lambo (left hip) on injured reserve.
