Jaguars WR D.J. Chark has surgery on broken finger
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark had surgery on a broken finger but is expected to be ready by Week 1, coach Urban Meyer told reporters Sunday.
Expected to be a top target for No. 1 draft pick Trevor Lawrence, Chark made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and led the Jaguars in receiving yards last season.
Jacksonville opens the season on the road against the Houston Texans on Sept. 12.
Chark, 24, had 53 catches for 706 yards and five touchdowns in 2020 and has 140 career receptions for 1,888 yards and 13 scores in 39 games (26 starts).
The 2018 second-round pick is entering the final season of his four-year rookie deal and is due to earn $2.2 million in 2021.
