Jets activate DL Quinnen Williams from PUP list

The New York Jets activated defensive lineman Quinnen Williams from the physically unable to perform list on Monday.

Williams underwent surgery on May 6 to repair a broken bone in his foot. According to local media reports, he had light participation in training camp on Monday, and it’s unknown whether he will play Saturday when the Jets travel to Green Bay for their second of three preseason games.

Williams, a 2019 first-round pick (third overall), broke a small bone in his foot working out this spring at the Jets’ facility, necessitating the surgery.

A 23-year-old Alabama alum, Williams made 13 starts last season and recorded 55 tackles and a team-high seven sacks. His career totals include 83 tackles, 9 1/2 sacks, 20 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 26 games (22 starts).
