Jets part ways with CB Wilson
The New York Jets released cornerback Quincy Wilson on Friday after trading for him earlier this year.
Wilson, a second-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2017, was acquired by the Jets for a sixth-round pick during the 2020 draft. The team hoped he could compete for a starting cornerback job.
The 24-year-old opened this season as a special teamer, then started in Week 2. Wilson wound up playing in just three games, including that one start, and appearing on just 25 defensive snaps. He finished with one tackle for loss and missed two-plus games with a concussion.
For his career, he has played in 32 games, including 11 starts, for Indianapolis (2017-19) and the Jets. He has 62 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
