Lions sign veteran WR Sanu to practice squad
The Detroit Lions signed veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to their practice squad on Friday.
The 31-year-old Sanu, who worked out for the Lions on Monday, was released by San Francisco on Oct. 6.
He played 40 snaps in three games (Weeks 2-4) for the 49ers, catching one pass for 9 yards.
A third-round pick by Cincinnati in 2012, Sanu has 404 catches for 4,516 yards and 26 touchdowns in 121 career games with the Bengals (2012-15), Atlanta Falcons (2016-19) and New England Patriots (2019).
Sanu adds experience and depth to a Detroit lineup that is missing 2019 Pro Bowl selection Kenny Golladay, who is dealing with a hip injury.
