Packers activate LB Kirksey (pectoral injury) from IR
The Green Bay Packers will have starting linebacker Christian Kirksey back when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the team announced Saturday.
Kirksey, a seven-year veteran who spent his first six seasons with the Cleveland Browns, was activated from injured reserve. He has been out with a pectoral injury and last played in Week 3.
Kirksey, who signed as a free agent with Green Bay in March, had played every snap on defense until he was injured. Still, his 27 tackles are good for fifth on the team.
He has 11 1/2 sacks among 30 tackles for loss in his career, with 511 total tackles.
The NFC North-leading Packers (6-2) will take on the AFC South’s last-place Jaguars (1-7). Green Bay is middle-of-the-pack in the NFL in allowing 25.5 points per game, while the Jaguars are 26th in the league in scoring at 22.4 points per game.
