Ravens TE Mark Andrews treated for ‘serious cramping’

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was treated for cramping after a scary incident during Thursday’s hot and humid practice session.

“Mark’s cramping. He’s got some pretty serious cramping going on,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “So he’s got to work through it. Humidity really shot up and obviously he’s working super hard, and he’s got to get that calmed down a little bit.”

Various reports from the scene said the 25-year-old Andrews appeared to be in agony and may have collapsed on the sideline before being attended to by an ambulance crew and treated with intravenous fluids.

The Ravens were participating in a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers in Spartanburg, S.C.

A third-round draft pick in 2018, Andrews made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and has 156 receptions for 2,105 yards and 20 touchdowns in 45 games (nine starts) with the Ravens.

Andrews caught 58 passes for 701 yards and seven scores in 14 games last season.
