Report: Eagles WR Jackson (ankle) out 6-8 weeks

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson will be sidelined 6-8 weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his right ankle, NFL Network reported Saturday.

The injury, sustained late in Thursday night’s come-from-behind 22-21 win against the New York Giants, was initially diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain. Jackson had an MRI on Friday and is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

“Jackson is frustrated but highly motivated to get back this year and next,” NFL Network posted on Twitter.

Making his first appearance since Week 3, Jackson caught three passes for 34 yards and rushed once for 12 yards before being tackled awkwardly on a punt return with 2:09 left in the game.

After getting hit initially by Corey Ballentine, who drew a penalty for lowering his head to initiate contact, Jackson absorbed a second hit from Madre Harper that twisted Jackson’s leg underneath him.

Jackson, 33, had missed the previous three games with a hamstring injury. He has 13 catches for 155 yards in four starts this season.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection has 611 career receptions for 10,575 yards and 55 touchdowns in 159 games with Philadelphia (2008-13, 2019-20), Washington (2014-16) and Tampa Bay (2017-18).
