Report: Giants fire OL coach Colombo, eye DeGuglielmo
The New York Giants fired offensive line coach Marc Colombo on Wednesday and plan to replace him with Dave DeGuglielmo, the NFL Network reported.
Should the Giants make the reported move, it will reunite head coach Joe Judge with DeGuglielmo. The latter helped the New England Patriots to a pair of Super Bowl titles before interviewing with the Giants, who ultimately hired Colombo.
DeGuglielmo, 52, previously served as an assistant offensive line coach with the Giants from 2004-08.
The Giants have yet to announce the move involving Colombo, who is in his first season with the team. Colombo spent his previous four seasons coaching the offensive line in Dallas under Jason Garrett, who is now New York’s offensive coordinator.
Colombo played offensive tackle for the Cowboys from 2005-10 as part of a 10-year NFL career. He joined Dallas’ staff as an assistant in 2015 and was promoted to assistant offensive line coach in 2016.
