Report: Hall of Famer Kevin Mawae joining Colts staff

Hall of Fame center Kevin Mawae is joining the Indianapolis Colts as an assistant offensive line coach, The Athletic reported Wednesday.

Mawae, who turned 50 last month, was inducted into Canton in 2019 following a decorated 16-year NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks (1994-97), New York Jets (1998-2005) and Tennessee Titans (2006-09).

The eight-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro was a member of the Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

Mawae, who retired after the 2009 season following 241 games (238 starts), had been working for Arizona State as an offensive analyst since 2018 under head coach Herm Edwards. He was an assistant offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears in 2016.

Mawae would be working under Chris Strausser, who has been the offensive line coach in Indianapolis since January 2019.
