Report: Jets QB Zach Wilson to miss 2-4 weeks
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will miss 2-to-4 weeks with a sprained PCL, ESPN reported Monday, citing results from an MRI.
Wilson injured his right knee Sunday in the Jets’ 54-13 loss to the New England Patriots.
Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, took a big hit from Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon early in the second quarter. He remained on the ground before being helped off the field by trainers. He was evaluated in the medical tent before heading to the locker room.
Wilson, 22, completed 6 of 10 passes for 51 yards before exiting the contest. For the season, he has passed for 1,168 yards with four touchdowns and nine interceptions in six starts.
He was replaced by Mike White, who played in an NFL game for the first time. On his first career pass attempt, White threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Corey Davis to cut New England’s lead to 17-7.
White, 26, was a fifth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. He has been with the Jets since 2019. White finished with 202 yards on 20-of-32 passing with one TD and two interceptions.
The Jets (1-5) host the Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) next Sunday.
