Report: Multiple Raiders heading to COVID-19 list

The Las Vegas Raiders are placing at least eight defensive starters on the reserve/COVID-19 list, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

Those players and “others who play key roles” are heading to the list as high-risk close contacts, per the report.

The players won’t be able to practice this week but will be eligible to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night if they continue to test negatively, according to the report.

The news comes after the Raiders placed two defensive players on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday.

Defensive end Clelin Ferrell reportedly tested positive and safety Lamarcus Joyner was added to the list as a close contact of his teammate.

The Raiders (6-3) have won three straight and are two games behind the Chiefs (8-1) in the AFC West. The game is scheduled for Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
