Report: Panthers to return to facility after no new positive tests
The Carolina Panthers planned to return to their practice facility on Wednesday after the latest rounds of COVID-19 testing produced no new positive results, ESPN reported.
The team was told to work from home on Monday and Tuesday after a presumptive positive test on Monday. Backup guard Michael Schofield was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list later in the day, and on Friday, Tyler Larsen – another reserve guard – was put on the list.
Being placed on the list means a player tested positive for COVID-19 or was identified as exposed to the virus through contact tracing.
Last week, the team practiced with heightened safety protocols after a member of the Atlanta Falcons — their opponent on Oct. 11 — tested positive for the virus. Carolina lost 23-16 to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Panthers (3-3) remain on schedule to meet the Saints (3-2) in New Orleans this Sunday.
