Reports: Chargers WR Williams nursing shoulder injury
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is considered week-to-week after sustaining a sprained right shoulder during Sunday’s practice, multiple media outlets reported.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that Williams is expected to be ready to play in the Chargers’ regular-season opener against the Bengals in Cincinnati.
Williams was injured after landing on his shoulder while attempting to make a leaping catch on Sunday.
The 25-year-old Williams set career highs in receptions (49) and receiving yards (1,001) to go along with two touchdowns last season. His 20.4-yards per catch in 2019 led the NFL.
Williams, who had 10 touchdowns in 2018, has 103 catches for 1,760 yards and 12 TDs in 41 games since being selected by the Chargers with the seventh overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Clemson.
