Reports: Jags QB Glennon to start Sunday over Minshew

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mike Glennon reportedly will start Sunday against the Chicago Bears, one of his former teams.

Multiple outlets reported Saturday that Glennon will make his fourth start of the season after splitting first-team reps in practice this week with Gardner Minshew.

The Jaguars (1-13) bring a franchise-record 13-game losing streak into the game with the visiting Bears (7-7).

Glennon, 31, was the starter in Weeks 12-14 and completed 61.0 percent of his passes for 600 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Bears signed Glennon to a three-year, $45 million contract in March 2017, only to release him one year later after they selected Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Glennon made four starts (1-3 record) with Chicago in 2017, passing for 833 yards with four touchdowns, five picks and two lost fumbles.

A third-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2013, Glennon has thrown for 5,763 yards and 39 TDs in 32 career games (25 starts) with the Buccaneers, Bears, Cardinals, Raiders and Jaguars.

Minshew, 24, has thrown for 2,259 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in nine games (eight starts) in 2020.

Rookie Jake Luton, 24, also made three starts (Weeks 9-11) under center for Jacksonville this season.
