Seahawks RB Carson to have MRI on ankle
Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson will have an MRI on his injured ankle Monday.
Carson left Sunday night’s game against the Arizona Cardinals in the second quarter and didn’t return. Carson rushed five times for 34 yards in the game, won 37-34 by the Cardinals in overtime.
“We don’t know until we get an MRI what that means or what the extent of it is,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after the game.
Carson missed the playoffs last season with a hip injury and played in just four games of his rookie season in 2017 because of a broken leg.
Carlos Hyde rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown in Carson’s absence.
Carson has 323 yards rushing with three touchdowns on the season. He has 2,912 rushing yards in 39 games (38 starts) for the Seahawks, who selected him in the seventh round of the 2017 draft.
Carson, 26, is in the final year of his rookie contract.
