Seahawks star S Adams (groin) to sit out vs. Dolphins
Seattle Seahawks star safety Jamal Adams will miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, coach Pete Carroll said Friday on his weekly radio show.
Adams injured his groin in last Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was acquired from the New York Jets during the offseason and has 23 tackles and two sacks in three games.
“Jamal is not ready yet. He won’t make it,” Carroll said. “We’ll miss the heck out of him.”
Carroll said that linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) also will sit out. Brooks also was hurt against the Cowboys.
Running back Chris Carson (knee) is expected to play, according to Carroll. Carson was hurt when Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill twisted and rolled with Carson’s left leg while putting the weight of his back on the running back’s other leg.
“(Carson) had an excellent week … and was able to really show that he was ready,” Carroll told KIRO. “He just bounced right back and so we’re really happy about that.”
Carson has rushed for a team-high 157 yards while adding 12 receptions for 93 yards and three touchdowns.
Right guard Damien Lewis (ankle) also has a chance to play. He was injured against Dallas.
