Steelers activate G Wisniewski from injured reserve
The Pittsburgh Steelers activated guard Stefen Wisniewski on Wednesday and placed linebacker Ulysees Gilbert on the reserve/injured list.
Wisniewski, 31, has not played since the season opener against the New York Giants when he came away with a pectoral injury after playing just four snaps and was placed on the injured list. The 10-year veteran is in his first season with the Steelers.
A second-round draft pick in 2011 out of Penn State, Wisniewski has also played for the Oakland Raiders (2011-14), Jacksonville Jaguars (2015), Philadelphia Eagles (2016-18), Kansas City Chiefs (2019) and Steelers.
Gilbert, 23, has played in just two games this season, seeing most of his action on special teams. He was placed on IR due to a back injury.
Gilbert is in his second season after he was a sixth-round draft pick by the Steelers in 2019 out of Akron. He also found his way to the injured list last season but played in seven games.
