Titans put WR Humphries (concussion) on IR
The Tennessee Titans put wide receiver Adam Humphries on injured reserve Tuesday, reportedly for lingering effects from a concussion he suffered in a Week 8 game.
Humphries just returned to the lineup last week in the Titans’ loss to the Cleveland Browns after missing four games with the concussion. He played 26 snaps against the Browns, hauling in one catch for 9 yards.
Humphries will have to miss at least three games, which makes Week 17 against the Houston Texans — the final game of the season — the first he would be eligible to return.
Humphries, 27, was first injured after an illegal hit from Cincinnati safety Jessie Bates during the Titans-Bengals game on Nov. 1. Bates was later fined $20,000 for the hit.
The Titans signed Humphries to a four-year, $36-million contract last season. He has 23 catches for 228 yards and two touchdowns on the season. He has 13 career TDs in 79 games (21 starts) for the Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2015-18).
The Titans also put practice squad punter Trevor Daniel on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
