Washington-Philadelphia game moved to Sunday night
The NFL has moved the Week 17 NFC East game between the Washington Football Team and Philadelphia Eagles from Sunday afternoon to Sunday night.
With a win, Washington (6-9) would claim the division title and a playoff berth. A loss would eliminate Washington, with the winner of Sunday afternoon’s game between the New York Giants (5-10) and Dallas Cowboys (6-9) instead bound for the playoffs because of NFL tiebreakers.
FOX will televise the 1 p.m. Giants-Cowboys game from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. NBC will broadcast the night game at 8:20.
On Sunday, Washington could have clinched the NFC East but lost 20-13 to the Carolina Panthers as quarterback Alex Smith remained out with a calf injury. The new starter, Dwayne Haskins Jr., was 14 of 28 for 154 yards with two interceptions before coach Ron Rivera replaced him with Taylor Heinicke, recently activated from the practice squad.
Heinicke finished 12 of 19 for 137 yards and one touchdown.
