WR JuJu Smith-Schuster to stay in Pittsburgh
Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is returning to Pittsburgh.
He reportedly gave the salary-cap-strapped Steelers a hometown deal, bypassing bigger offers to stay with the team that selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He will receive $8 million for the 2021 season, less than the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens offered, according to NFL Network.
“This is my home, they’re gonna need a wrecking ball to take me outta here! PITTSBURGH I LOVE YOU, LET’S GO!!!!!,” he tweeted, his words followed by four hearts in the Steelers’ black and gold team colors.
Smith-Schuster, 24, had 97 receptions for 831 yards and nine touchdowns in 2020. He has made 308 receptions for 3,726 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons with the Steelers. He made the Pro Bowl in 2018.
