Charlotte Mallard Creek quarterback Marquise Williams participated in the Blacksburg Nike Camp this past weekend and showed exactly why he is the object of affection for many schools across the country. Possessing a big arm, good size and nice speed, Williams also exudes confidence in the huddle and the leadership ability to make his teammates better.

The signal-caller has his eyes on a few schools, in particular, and revealed those institutions that caught his eye.

“North Carolina, Michigan and Notre Dame,” he said at the camp. “I will be taking officials to all three of those schools.”

While he is still undecided and not leaning one way or another, he likes the coaches in South Bend and the spread offense that the Fighting Irish will run.

But the quarterback ultimately wants to attend the school that is the best fit.

“I am looking to get on the field early and a chance to play early. I am looking for a good community I can be a part of,” he said. “The head coach needs to have my best interest at heart as far as looking after me and getting on me if I am not working hard in the classroom and on the field.”

Williams isn’t the only top quarterback prospect, however, being targeted by Kelly and his staff. Bubba Starling, Kiehl Frazier, Christian LeMay — who gave a soft verbal to Georgia already — and Braxton Miller are also being sought by the Irish. Early playing time is on the mind of all the recruits.
