The cancellation of Thursday’s meeting to continue the labor negotiations between the NFL and the union has no doubt sent a chill down the spines of many a football fan. Now that there are no more games to be played, a sense of dread tends to arise anytime we hear about anything negative in regards to the ongoing CBA discussions.
Which is probably why websites like BetOnline.com are now offering odds as to when a new CBA will be reached and whether or not the 2011 regular season will start on time.
Here are some of the odds currently floating around the internet in regards to the ongoing labor discussions. I personally love the idea of getting +160 for betting that the 2011 regular season will start on time. There’s just too much money to be lost to not get a new deal done.
Maybe a new CBA isn’t reached by March 4, but I feel very confident the season will start on time…especially at +160.
Will there be a lockout in the NFL starting March 4, 2011?
When will the NFL lockout be over? (Lockout is over when new Collective Bargaining Agreement is signed)
Before Aug 6: +150
Between Aug-Sept. 8: +170
After Sept 8: +150
Will the NFL scheduled season start on time? (first regular season game is scheduled for Sept. 8)
How many regular season games will be lost due to the lockout? (if the season starts on time, this prop has no action)
1 game: +200
2 games: +200
3 games: +250
4 games: +220
5 games: +350
6 games: +300
7 games: +400
8 games or more: +300
