The New England Patriots announced a number of staff roles with Matt Patricia, who has been the staff since 2004 in various capacities, will be the team's defensive coordinator.
The other news of note is that Steve Belichick, son of head coach Bill Belichick, will be joining the Patriots as an entry level coaching assistant. The younger Belichick played lacrosse at Rutgers and walked on to the football team there last season as a long snapper.
In addition to those two, other positions announced include Josh Boyer (cornerbacks), Brian Flores (safeties), Patrick Graham (defensive line), Pepper Johnson (linebackers), George Godsey (tight ends) and Joe Judge (special teams assistant).
