New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was arraigned in court on Tuesday for allegedly groping a woman on the dance floor at a Halloween party, according to the Boston Herald.
Edelman, 25, entered a not guilty plea to "indecent assault and battery in connection with the alleged sexual assault that had one witness wanting to take on the Patriot right away, according to a police report," the newspaper said.
Edelman was released on his own recognizance and was order to stay away from the victim and the bar by a Boston municipal judge. The alleged assault was reported to police shortly after 1:30 a.m. at the club, located on Exeter Street.
The Herald, citing the police report, indicated that Edelman allegedly "reached under" the victim's Halloween costume and "grabbed her vagina." The male witness and the woman were first asked to leave the club, as the male "witness" threatened to beat up Edelman, according to the newspaper, citing the police report.
Edelman was also booted out of the club, according to the report and denied the allegation to police.
