The New England Patriots are signing former Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers tight end D.J. Williams.
Williams has nine career receptions for 70 yards.
Williams is a former Arkansas standout who won the John Mackey Award in 2010 when he was named All-Southeastern Conference for the Razorbacks.
He had 54 receptions for 627 yards and four touchdowns.
A former Packers fifth-round draft pick, Williams was cut by the Jaguars earlier this month.
The Patriots are shorthanded at tight end due to a knee injury to Michael Hoomanawanui.
The Patriots cut cornerback Justin Green and defensive tackel Marcus Forston.
