The Buffalo Bills are on the verge of being officially purchased.

Terry Pegula met with the NFL finance committee on Wednesday and his $1.4 million bid was approved unanimously. NFL executive vice president Eric Grubman characterized it as "a very big step" toward finalizing the sale.

“As far as I can say, we’re not NFL owners until that vote is approved, and we’ll have no further comments,” Pegula said.

Pegula still needs 75 percent of the vote from NFL owners on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8. That's not expected to be a problem.
