After a DUI arrest earlier this week, the Ravens opted to part ways with running back Bernard Pierce, the team's third-round pick in 2012.
According to police reports, Pierce was driving 55 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, and was subsequently puller over. The officer smelled alcohol, asked Pierce to complete a series of sobriety tests, and after failing said tests, the ex-Temple Owl was arrested. At one point, officers, had to shake Pierce to wake him up in order to ask him questions.
A day after being cut by the Ravens, the Jaguars wasted no time in placing a claim on the 4th-year running back, who will join Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson in the Jacksonville backfield. If convicted of DUI, Pierce faces a two-game suspension.
In his three years in Baltimore, Pierce accumulated 1,334 yards and 5 touchdowns in rotational duty.
