P.J. Hill is back for his second tour with the New Orleans Saints, who claimed the running back off waivers from the Washington Redskins today.
Hill had a strong preseason for the Saints last summer, rushing for 128 yards on 26 carries with three touchdowns.
New Orleans had Hill stashed on its practice squad for the first six weeks of the season before the injury-depleted Philadelphia Eagles signed him to their 53-man roster. Hill eventually bounced to the practice squad in Philadelphia before the Redskins signed him away before Week 17 in order to carry him into the offseason. Apparently, Mike Shanahan didn’t believe he was a fit for his offense.
