Sure, the simple fact that Tebow is trying to lead the Broncos into the playoffs with an AFC West title is big enough. But Kiszla delves deeper and points out that the stakes are at an all-time high for Tebow because the Chiefs will be quarterbacked by Broncos castoff Kyle Orton. Orton, whose name was mud in Denver because of the Broncos' inability to win games, would probably love nothing better than to crush the Orange's postseason plans.
If Tebow and the Broncos don't win on Sunday, not only does it severely hamper their playoff hopes (Denver would still go if the Chargers beat the Raiders), but Kiszla claims it would make Broncos president John Elway and team owner Pat Bowlen look bad for jettisoning Orton rather than pay the balance of his $2.6 million salary to ride the bench.
If Tebow and the Broncos win, it will be his biggest win in Denver to date. By the same token, if the Chiefs win, it will also be Orton's biggest win ever in Denver.
