The Oakland Raiders have signed rookie safety Jeremy Deering.</p> <p>
He's an undrafted free agent from Rutgers.</p> <p>
The 6-foot-1, 209-pounder played wide receiver and free safety at Rutgers and also returned kickoffs.</p> <p>
Deering was previously with the New England Patriots.</p> <p>
Veteran safety Usama Young is on the Raiders' physically unable to perform list with a quadriceps injury.</p> <p>
