Former New York Jets offensive tackle Austin Howard, an ascending young player in his prime, has joined the Oakland Raiders via a five-year, $30 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed, according to ESPN.
The 6-foot-7, 330-pounder has been reliable and sturdy with no missed starts in the past two seasons.
Howard allowed two sacks last seaosn.
He plays with a sound hand punch and is a good drive blocker.
Howard is a former Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman who went undrafted out of Northern Iowa in 2010.
