Report: Arnette reinjures thumb, could miss 6 weeks (NFL)

Las Vegas Raiders rookie cornerback Damon Arnette reinjured his thumb on Sunday and could miss six weeks, NFL Network reported Tuesday.

Arnette, who injured the thumb in practice before the season started and has been wearing a cast, landed awkwardly on the thumb in the Raiders’ loss to the New England Patriots. Arnette is visiting a thumb specialist Tuesday, per the report.

The worst-case scenario could land the 24-year-old on injured reserve.

Nevin Lawson or Isaiah Johnson would be in line to replace Arnette opposite Trayvon Mullen.

Arnette had 14 tackles and one pass defensed in his first three games since being drafted in the first round (19th overall) out of Ohio State in April.
