The New England Patriots will not release cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, despite his arrest on suspicion of DUI and a possible violation of probation, if he is convicted of the charge, per the Boston Globe.
Dennard was arrested earlier this month on the charge and faces a July 31 court date. Dennard was convicted of assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, Neb., over an April 2012 incident and given a 30-day deferred jail sentence and placed on two years probation. Prosecutors are seeking to have his probation revoked over the lastest incident.
Despite his problems, a source tells the Globe that the Patriots have no intention of cutting the cornerback.
