It looks like TCU won’t have to worry about crashing the BCS party anymore, as the Horned Frogs will be joining an AQ conference.

According to Brett McMurphy of AOL FanHouse, TCU has accepted an invitation to become an all-sports member of the Big East. The Horned Frogs will join the conference beginning on July 1, 2012.

The addition of TCU gives the Big East a strong football program that can help bolster its reputation, as the league has been criticized for its lack of worthy candidates to BCS bowl games in recent years, including this season.

TCU (12-0) is currently ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings and is guaranteed a BCS bowl berth.

Adding the Horned Frogs also strengthens the Big East’s position when the league starts renegotiating its television contracts that expires after the 2013 season.

The Big East had stated weeks ago that it wanted to get its football membership to 10 teams. The league has made an offer to Villanova, as well, to move up from FCS to the Big East in football.

TCU will make the announcement Monday at a 1 p.m. news conference.
