The agent for Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice says he is bracing for the club to place the franchise tag on his client before the March 5 deadline.
Todd France, who represents Rice, tells the Carroll County Times' Aaron Wilson that they know the franchise tag is coming, but they hope to keep negotiating toward a long-term extension.
"We obviously know the tag is coming, but we will continue to have open dialogue and see if we can come to a long-term agreement, which is the preference for both sides," said France, who met with the Ravens at the NFL Combine over the weekend.
