The Indianapolis Colts have given veteran outside linebacker Robert Mathis a one-year contract extension through the 2016 season.
Mathis can earn up to $6 million through the extension.
He signed a four-year, $36 million deal in 2012.
Mathis tore his Achilles while working out during his four-game suspension for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy.
Last year, Mathis, 33, led the NFL with 19.5 sacks.
The Colts signed cornerback Jalil Brown, adding wide receiver Chandler Jones and linebacker Rob Ruggiero to the practice squad.
