Much like a traveling salesperson, Jaguars defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks had an incentive on working toward a year-end goal.
Against the Tennessee Titans in a 21-13 win Thursday night, Marks surpassed the eight-sack threshold written in his contract, which triggered a $600,000 escalator. Marks sacked Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst late in the game, giving him 8.5 for the season.
Marks has been a bright spot on a Jaguars team that only has three wins this season. His 8.5 sacks during his sixth NFL season is a single-season best for him and he still has one game to go.
Following the money-making sack, Marks did a celebration to Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel's, where he rubbed his fingers together. On Thursday, that dance had a different meaning, as a lot of money truly is coming Marks' way soon.
