The New England Patriots retained tight end Michael Hoomanawanui with a two-year contract, according to a league source.
He caught 12 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown last season in 10 starts.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder has 37 career receptions for 374 yards and four touchdowns.
He's regarded as a strong blocker and a good all-around tight end for a team that's constantly dealing with injuries with star tight end Rob Gronkowski.
