Missouri announces sportsbooks for Dec. 1

The state of Missouri has approved 10 sportsbook operators for temporary licenses, which should allow them to go live when sports betting launches at midnight on December 1.

The Missouri Gaming Commission issued the temporary licenses, but operators still need to have their internal controls and house rules approved before that can launch on opening day.

DraftKings and Circa were already known as they were awarded two untethered licenses earlier this year. These licenses do not require the operator to partner with a state casino or professional sports franchises. They also do not have to share revenue with a market-access partner.

The other eight sportsbooks that were issued the tethered licenses are made up of many of the most widely known and used sportsbooks in the industry. They include:

Bet365
BetMGM
Caesars
ESPN Bet
Fanatics
FanDuel
Kambi
Underdog

A short list of suppliers were also handed licenses to offer betting and betting-related services to operators in the state. Those suppliers included:

BMM Testlabs
Integrity Compliance 360
International Betting Integrity Association
Genius Sports
GeoComply
GLI

The approved sportsbooks will have only have two weeks to market in the state and begin signing up customers. Customer sign ups can begin on November 17. It will be interesting to see what the sign up numbers look like as Missouri is surrounded by states that have already legalized sports betting, including Kansas, and Illinois.
