The Pittsburgh Steelers activated tight end Heath Miller from the physically unable to perform list and cut running back Jonathan Dwyer.
Miller is eligible to start practicing immediately.
Dwyer is a former sixth-round draft pick who led the Steelers in rushing with 623 yards and two touchdowns.
The Steelers also cut nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu, a 2012 fourth-rounder; rookie cornerback Terry Hawthorne, a 2013 fifth-rounder; and sixth-round wide receiver Justin Brown.
The Steelers cut punter Brian Moorman, cornerback Josh Victorian, linebacker Marshall McFadden, tight end Jamie McCoy, wide receiver Reggie Dunn; offensive linemen Mike Golic Jr., Joe Madsen, and Chris Hubbard; defensive end Brian Arnfelt; linebackers Alan Baxter and Terence Garvin; and cornerback Devin Smith, wide receiver Kashif Moore, running back Alvester Alexander, tight end Nathan Overbay, and tackle Joe Long, linebacker Brian Rolle and second-year safety Ross Ventrone.
Defensive end Nick Williams is on injured reserve.
