Pittsburgh Steelers safety Mike Mitchell injured his groin while working out and is starting training camp on the physically unable to perform list.</p> <p>
Mitchell was signed to a five-year, $25 million contract this offseason.</p> <p>
Running back Alvester Alexander joined Mitchell on the list.</p> <p>
Mitchell is expected to be out a week.</p> <p>
Meanwhile, center Maurkice Pouncey will be taking a full workload after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament last year.</p> <p>
“He’s ready to go,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said.</p> <p>
