Packers sign former Eagles, Titans OT Andre Dillard

The Green Bay Packers signed free agent offensive tackle Andre Dillard, the team announced Thursday.

Dillard had been released by the Tennessee Titans as a salary cap casualty on March 15 after career highs of 10 starts and 562 offensive snaps in 16 appearances last season.

He had signed with the Titans as a free agent after four years with the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected him No. 22 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Dillard, who spent the 2020 season on injured reserve, played in 43 games (nine starts) for the Eagles, mostly at left tackle.

Eagles activate practice window for T Andre Dillard

The Philadelphia Eagles activated the 21-day practice window for tackle Andre Dillard on Wednesday.

Dillard, 27, landed on injured reserve on Sept. 6 after fracturing his forearm in practice, which required surgery.

The Eagles have three weeks to elevate Dillard to the active roster or he will be shut down for the season.

A first-round pick (22nd overall) in 2019, Dillard has appeared in 31 games (nine starts). He missed all of the 2020 season with a torn biceps.

The Eagles also signed kicker Cameron Dicker to the practice squad. Starter Jake Elliott sustained an apparent leg injury in Sunday’s 29-21 win against Jacksonville, and his status is uncertain.

Eagles lose both LTs to concussion protocol

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without both of their left tackles for a few days.

Starter Jordan Mailata and backup Andre Dillard both suffered concussions and will miss Thursday’s practice and a few more while in the concussion protocol.

Veteran lineman Le’Raven Clark worked with the first team at left tackle at training camp in their absence.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith also missed practice Thursday with groin soreness. Rookie tight end Grant Calcaterra (hamstring) missed his third practice. Greg Ward (toe) remains sidelined but fellow wideout Zach Pascal returned after battling food poisoning.

Mailata, 25, started all 14 games he played in last season, including 100 percent of those snaps. He was a seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft.

Dillard, 26, played in 15 games (five starts) in the 2021 season. He has played in 31 games (nine starts) since being selected No. 22 overall in the 2019 draft.

Clark, 29, played in four games (one start) last season for the Eagles after four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

Eagles activate four players from COVID-19 list

The Philadelphia Eagles activated four players from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

Offensive tackles Le’Raven Clark and Andre Dillard and defensive ends Tarron Jackson and Ryan Kerrigan cleared the NFL’s health and safety protocols.

Jackson landed on the COVID-19 list on Monday. The other three players missed last Sunday’s 34-10 win against the New York Giants.

The Eagles (8-7) control their own playoff destiny, currently sitting in an NFC wild-card slot with two games left at the Washington Football Team (6-9) on Sunday and at home against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18.

Philadelphia has three players still on the COVID-19 list: defensive end Derek Barnett, linebacker Shaun Bradley and defensive back Andre Chachere. Practice squad receiver John Hightower and tight end Noah Toigai are also in the protocols.

Eagles LT Andre Dillard, S K’Von Wallace week-to-week

Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Andre Dillard is considered week-to-week with a knee sprain and safety K’Von Wallace is also week-to-week after suffering a groin strain.

Dillard, 25, is competing with Jordan Mailata for Philadelphia’s starting left tackle job. In the Eagles’ first, unofficial depth chart of training camp released Tuesday, both players were listed as first-string left tackles, indicating an unsettled competition at the position.

The Eagles’ first-round draft pick in 2019 (No. 22 overall) out of Washington State, Dillard played 16 games in his rookie year with four starts. But he missed all of 2020 with a torn biceps.

As a result, the Australian Mailata took over the starting left tackle role in 2020, with 10 starts among his 15 appearances protecting the blindside for Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts.

Wallace, 24, is the Eagles’ projected starter at strong safety. As a rookie in 2020, he appeared in 15 games with three starts and recorded 21 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Rodney McLeod would likely rejoin the starters but remains on the physically unable to perform list.

Reports: Eagles LT Dillard (biceps) out for season

Philadelphia Eagles starting left tackle Andre Dillard’s second NFL season reportedly is over before it began.

Dillard will require season-ending surgery after sustaining a biceps injury in one-on-one drills in Thursday’s practice, multiple media outlets reported.

Dillard, 24, becomes the second member of the Eagles’ offensive line to suffer a significant injury prior to the start of the regular season. Three-time Pro Bowl guard Brandon Brooks sustained a torn left Achilles tendon in June.

Dillard, who had missed time in training camp with an unrelated shoulder injury, started four games during his rookie season after being selected by the Eagles with the 22nd overall pick in 2019.

Jordan Mailata, a former rugby player from Australia, replaced Dillard during Thursday’s practice.
