Reports: Vikings signing LB Andrew Van Ginkel to $23M extension

The Minnesota Vikings signed Pro Bowl linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel to a contract extension on Tuesday, with multiple reports saying it was a one-year, $23 million extension through the 2026 season.

Van Ginkel, 29, had signed with the Vikings as a free agent in March 2024 on a two-year, $20 million contract.

He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2024 after totaling career bests with 79 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and two interceptions — both returned for touchdowns — in 17 games (all starts).

He played his first five seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2019-23), and for his career has 329 tackles, 49 TFL, 28.5 sacks, 76 quarterback hits, four interceptions, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Miami selected Van Ginkel in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Report: Dolphins re-signing LB Andrew Van Ginkel

The Miami Dolphins are re-signing linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, USA Today reported Tuesday.

The report said Van Ginkel drew interest from at least four other teams but is returning to Miami on a one-year deal.

Van Ginkel, 27, registered 47 tackles and one interception in 17 games (five starts) for the Dolphins in 2022.

A fifth-round pick by Miami in 2019, he has 181 tackles, 11 sacks and four forced fumbles in 56 games (31 starts).
