Report: Eagles RB Sanders (hamstring) out vs. Washington

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders will not make the trip to Washington for Sunday’s season-opening game, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Sanders had been listed as questionable with a hamstring injury for the Eagles, who will need to rely on Boston Scott and Corey Clement in his reported absence.

The Eagles parted with Sanders’ primary competition for carries last season, Jordan Howard, who was acquired by the Miami Dolphins.

Sanders, 23, rushed for 818 yards and three touchdowns and added 50 receptions for 509 yards and three more scores in 16 games last season. The Eagles selected the Penn State product in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
