Reports: Texans signing OT Cam Robinson to 1-year deal

The Houston Texans are signing offensive tackle Cam Robinson to a one-year deal worth up to $14.5 million, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.

The Texans get their replacement at left tackle after trading Laremy Tunsil to Washington earlier this month.

Robinson, 29, will have a base salary of $12 million, per the reports.

Robinson has started all 101 games he’s played in since the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the second round of the 2017 draft.

The Jaguars traded Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 29 for a conditional pick (fourth or fifth round) in the 2026 draft. Robinson started the final 10 games of the season for the Vikings.

The Texans received a 2025 third-round draft pick and second- and fourth-rounders in 2026 from the Commanders in exchange for Tunsil.

Reports: Vikings acquire LT Cam Robinson from Jaguars

After losing their starting left tackle to a season-ending injury, the Minnesota Vikings landed his replacement by trading for Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, ESPN and NFL Network reported.

The Vikings acquired Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-round draft pick from Jacksonville in exchange for a conditional 2026 fifth-round selection. Based on Robinson’s playing time, the seventh-rounder can be dropped and the fifth-rounder can be upgraded to a fourth.

Vikings tackle Christian Darrisaw suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in Thursday’s 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Robinson, 29, was a second-round draft pick by the Jaguars in 2017 and has started all 91 games he’s played since that rookie year.

Robinson, an unrestricted free agent after 2024, joins a 5-2 Vikings team in a playoff race, and the 2-6 Jaguars get to shed Robinson’s $16.25 million base salary. It was unclear whether Jacksonville retained any of Robinson’s salary to facilitate the trade.

Jaguars activate LT Cam Robinson from injured reserve

The Jacksonville Jaguars activated left tackle Cam Robinson from injured reserve on Saturday.

The seventh-year veteran has been sidelined by a knee injury since a Week 12 win against Houston.

Robinson returns in time to protect quarterback C.J. Beathard on Sunday against Carolina.

Beathard is making his first start since the 2020 season with Trevor Lawrence ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

The Jaguars (8-7) have dropped four straight games heading into Sunday’s date with the Panthers (2-13).

Robinson, 28, has started seven games this season. He missed the first four games while serving an NFL suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The 2017 second-round pick has started all 82 games in which he has played for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars waived offensive lineman Chandler Brewer in a corresponding transaction.

Report: Jags OL Cam Robinson suspended 4 games for PEDs

The NFL is suspending Jacksonville Jaguars starting left tackle Cam Robinson four games for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy, ESPN reported Thursday.

Robinson was reportedly facing a suspension of up to eight games that was dependent on the results of the 27-year-old’s B sample. It’s Robinson’s first PED offense. He’ll forfeit a total of $3,555,552 in salary.

Robinson will be eligible to return Oct. 8, the day before his 28th birthday, in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills in London.

Walker Little is expected to replace Robinson at left tackle, according to ESPN. Rookie and 2023 first-round draft pick Anton Harrison is expected to start at right tackle.

Robinson signed a three-year, $34.25 million extension ahead of the 2022 season. He has started all 75 games he’s played in since the Jags selected him in the second round of the 2017 draft.

Robinson missed the final three games of the 2022 regular season and both playoff games with a knee injury.

Reports: Jags LT Cam Robinson facing PED suspension

Jacksonville Jaguars starting left tackle Cam Robinson is facing a multi-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, multiple outlets reported Thursday.

Per the ESPN report, Robinson could be suspended two, six or eight games, depending on the results of the 27-year-old’s B sample. It would be Robinson’s first PED offense.

The Jaguars didn’t bring back right tackle Jawaan Taylor, who left in free agency for a massive payday from the Kansas City Chiefs and could be tried on the left side.

Robinson signed a three-year, $34.25 million extension ahead of the 2022 season. He has started all 75 games he’s played in since the Jags selected him in the second round of the 2017 draft.

Robinson missed the final three games of the 2022 regular season and both playoff games with a knee injury.

The Jaguars’ have the No. 24 overall pick in the first round of Thursday’s night’s draft.

Jaguars LT Cam Robinson (knee) out for season

Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday.

Robinson tore the meniscus in his right knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 40-34 overtime victory against the visiting Dallas Cowboys.

“I hate it for him because he’s played extremely well this season,” Pederson said.

Robinson, 27, has started all 14 games this season, playing at least 93 percent of the offensive snaps in each contest before getting hurt on Sunday.

He signed a three-year, $52.75 million contract in May after the Jaguars used the franchise tag on him in March. The deal includes $33 million guaranteed.

Robinson has started 75 games for Jacksonville since it drafted him in the second round (34th overall) out of Alabama in 2017.

Walker Little replaced Robinson against the Cowboys and will likely be the starter Thursday night when the Jaguars (6-8) visit the New York Jets (7-7).

Report: Jags T Cam Robinson agrees to 3-year, $54M deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars and left tackle Cam Robinson have agreed to a three-year, $54 million extension, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

Robinson, who was franchise tagged for the second straight year, will earn $18 million per year. He would have earned $16.66 million in 2022 under the tag had the two sides not reached a deal by July 15.

Robinson, 26, has appeared in 61 games (all starts) for the Jaguars since they selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Jaguars have the No. 1 pick in the draft Thursday night. Having Robinson locked up likely means they won’t select one of the top left tackles available — Evan Neal of Alabama or North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu — with the top pick.

Instead, they could address their need for an edge rusher with Aidan Hutchinson of Michigan or Travon Walker from Georgia.

LT Cam Robinson signs franchise tag with Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson has signed his franchise tag.

This will be his second consecutive season playing on the tag.

Robinson, 26, will earn $16.66 million under the tender unless the sides reach a long-term deal by the July 15 deadline. Robinson earned $13.75 million under the tag last season.

Robinson has appeared in 61 games (all starts) for the Jaguars since they selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Jaguars have the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. Having Robinson under contract for another season could mean the Jaguars won’t select one of the top left tackles available — Evan Neal of Alabama or North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu — with the top pick.

Instead, they could address their need for an edge rusher with Aidan Hutchinson of Michigan or Travon Walker from Georgia.

General manager Trent Baalke hasn’t ruled out trading the No. 1 pick, either.

“To say we won’t shop (the pick) is probably not 100 percent correct, but to say we will is probably not either,” he said last month at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. “So we’re gonna see what comes, and if something comes our way and it makes sense to us, we’ll make that decision at that time.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars will place the franchise tag on offensive tackle Cam Robinson, NFL Network reported on Tuesday.

The reported move appears to be a sound one, considering the Jaguars are expected to select Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The franchise tag for offensive tackles is earmarked at approximately $13.6 million. Robinson made $1,422,022 last season, per Spotrac.

Robinson, 25, started 16 games last season and all 47 games in which he has played since the Jaguars selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
